* John's mother (Mary Sharkey) died in 1876 and his father remarried to Catherine Crean. These siblings of John
were half-brothers & half-sisters from his father's (Patrick Finn)second marriage to Catherine Crean.
In the 1905 N.Y. State census, James Finn is enumerated living with John. The dates of their births indicate
that James is older than John which is incorrect. It is understandable that they wouldn't know the exact date,
but they surely knew which one was older. Perhaps it was the result of who the enumerator talked with to get the
data for the census.
The 1910 Federal Census shows John (age 35) enumerated with his wife Annie (age 35), their son John (age 6),
Brother-in-law Thomas Flemming (age 26) born in Ireland, Sister-in-law Kate Flemming (age 24) born in Ireland and
Roomer Nellie Carelly (age 30) born in Ireland. The census indicates that Ann has had 3 children and only 1 (John)
The 1915 N.Y. Census enumerates John with wife Annie, son John and daughter Anna living at house #261 in New York
(most likely the same address as recorded for the 1920 census as the actual census record was not viewable online
from the LDS, just the transcribed text version with no street name).
The 1920 census enumerates John with wife Anna, son John Jr., daughter Ann and 12 boarders living at 261 18th St.
Manhattan, N.Y. John was employed as a store salesman.
John's Son John died on 12 Apr 1942. Daughter Ann married Anthony Slevin on 6 Oct 1934 in Manhattan. Anthony age
28 & Ann age 28 are enumerated in the 1940 US census in Manhattan, NY along with daughter Ann Marie age 3 and son
